This website, capefoulwindcabin.nz, is run by Cape Foulwind Cabin, 112 Lighthouse Road, Cape Foulwind, Westport, New Zealand. You can reach us at info@capefoulwindcabin.nz.
What we collect and why
Contact form. When you send a message we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message. We use it only to reply to you. It is delivered to our inbox by email; we do not store form submissions on the website.
Bookings. When you book through our booking page (booking.capefoulwindcabin.nz) we collect your name, email address, phone number, the dates and number of guests, and any notes you add. We use this to hold and confirm your booking, send your confirmation and arrival details, and contact you about your stay. Booking records are kept for our accounting obligations.
Payments. Card payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe's own secure pages. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy explains how they handle payment data. If you pay by bank deposit, our bank statement will show your payment.
Channel calendars. If you book through Booking.com or Airbnb, those platforms share the dates of your stay with our calendar so the cabin cannot be double-booked. Your details on those platforms are governed by their privacy policies.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. The booking page uses a session cookie only while you are making a booking. The maps on this site are embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when the map loads.
Who else sees your information
Our website and booking page are hosted by Cloudflare and our web hosting provider; messages are sent through our email provider; payments are processed by Stripe. Each of them handles your information only to provide their service to us. We do not sell or share your information with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email info@capefoulwindcabin.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always at this address.
